Lawdale Art Center presents its 23rd annual Day of the Dead Retablo exhibition.
"Lawndale invites artists and the public to create contemporary interpretations of retablos on 8” x 10” pieces of sheet metal. These retablos are then sold at the gala to benefit both Lawndale and the artists"

"The Talento Bilingüe de Houston will be celebrating Día de los Muertos, The Day of the Dead, by showing two fantastic exhibits: "Arbol de la Esperanza/Tree of Hope," a Día de los Muertos altar by Elvira Díaz-Ocampo, which was constructed in recognition of the soldiers in Iraq, and a collection of photographs called Fiesta de Muertos a la Oaxaca, by Mary Helen and Roberto Perez" (November 2-21, 2008)
